MC Send FlowersFlower Delivery

Send Flowers

As special occasions arise, I am always faced with the decision if I should send flowers or deliver them myself. While both of these options have distinct benefits, I often wonder if it makes a difference to the recipient. I have also had both positive and negative experiences when I have chosen to send flowers and deliver them personally. A few years ago I showed up at a friend’s house, flowers in hand, to apologize for something I had recently done. I thought that bringing flowers was a nice gesture that would help me gain their forgiveness. However, instead of the warm greeting I was expecting, the bouquet of flowers was thrown back in my face – no exactly the reaction I was hoping for. Conversely, I once brought a good friend flowers on their birthday as a surprise and she still talks about it to this day. To send flowers has also given me mixed reactions in the past, where it has been greatly appreciated by some and accused of being too lazy to deliver them myself by others.

Personally, I usually favour the choice to send flowers over delivering them myself. I am not sure the reason, but I think that to send flowers often results in a bigger surprise on behalf of the recipient, not to mention that the overwhelming curiosity they feel before they read the card and discover who sent them. While this theory has helped me in many instances, it has also backfired, as I outlined above. For now it seems that I will have to continue guessing if I should send flowers or show up at their doorstep. Hopefully there will soon be a standard which I can use to save from some of the rough stories I have shared here.
