A few weeks ago I tried to send someone flowers. This is not something very unusual for me to do, and I have never really had any difficulty in doing so. However, when I used a New York flower delivery service I encountered more problems than I thought was possible for such a simple task. I called the New York flower delivery service on a Tuesday, to have a certain bouquet delivered on the upcoming Friday. On the Saturday I was at the recipient’s house and didn’t see them out anywhere so I asked if they had received the flowers. To my dismay, the New York flower delivery service had not delivered the arrangement. Obviously, as soon as I got home I called the New York flower delivery service to discuss the matter. I was shocked to find that the New York flower delivery service did not believe me and required that the recipient actually call them to say they never received the flowers.
Once this was done (and that is an awkward thing to ask a friend to do for you) the New York flower delivery service said they would redeliver the bouquet. This time, my friends did receive the flowers, but it was not the arrangement that I had ordered (it was a much smaller and cheaper bouquet). Again, I had to call the New York flower delivery service to explain this to them, and again, my friend had to call in to explain what they had received. When the New York flower delivery service finally did resend the proper bouquet, they still had the nerve to charge me the full price. They claimed that since they got to keep the first bouquet for free, that that should count as my discount. This will certainly not prevent me from using a New York flower delivery service in the future, but I will be sure not to use this one again!
